S ciljem ispunjavanja specifičnih ciljeva djelovanja bosanskohercegovačkog ogranka međunarodne organizacije DO.CO.MO.MO, formiran je eksperimentalni DO.CO.MO.MO studio Banja Luka. Prepoznatljivi elementi arhitekture su bili predmet urbanističko-arhitektonske analize na: (1) nivou grada – (a) lični osvrt na vrijednosti modernizma, (b) pozicija kuće u gradu (c) sekvence gradacije ulaza u kuću, (d) odnos spolja-unutra, (e) mjesto susreta; (2) nivou kuće – specifični elementi arhitekture (identifikacija, definicija, tumačenje); i (3) nivou iskustva korisnika kroz konstrukciju narativa o objektu (identifikovanje i promociju modernističkog nasljeđa u savremenoj arhitekturi i kulturi).
The experimental DO.CO.MO.MO studio Banja Luka was conceived in order to support specific goals of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian branch of the International DO.CO.MO.MO organization. The studio participants are students of the 7th semester of the Architecture study program at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University in Banja Luka, as well as teachers, assistants and guest lecturers gathered around the courses Architectural Design 10 and Architecture of Interiors 2 through the 2021/22 academic year.
Studio DO.CO.MO.MO. worked on the mapping of the modernist heritage of Banja Luka, by using digitalized project documentation created through archival research. The process consisted of recognition of modernist architectural heritage’s basic characteristics with the goal of defining key values to inherit, guard and promote. These characteristics were observed through the theme of changing building culture. The recognizable elements of architecture were subject of urbanistic-architectural analysis at the following levels: (1) city level – (a) personal comment on the value of modernism, (b) the position of the building in the city, (c) gradual entry sequences, (d) relations outside-inside, (e) meeting spot; (2) building level – specific elements of architecture (identification, definition, interpretation); and (3) level of user experience through definition of narratives about the building (identification and promotion of modernist heritage in contemporary architecture and culture).
