  • Stambeno naselje Borik je izgrađeno u vrijeme zlatnog perioda socijalističke Jugoslavije po principima moderne, koji su između ostalog podrazumijevali niz modularnih elemenata koji formiraju sklop zgrade, bloka, naselja. Prefabrikacija, kao sistem brze i optimizovane gradnje se ogledao i u dizajnu urbanog mobilijara poput nadstrešnica autobuskih stajališta, kanti za otpatke, oglasnih ploča, telefonskih govornica, uličnih lampi i sl. U ovom nizu, danas se najviše ističe modularna arhitektura kioska K67 (Saša J. Mahtig, 1968). Prepoznatljivi crveni kiosci su bili nezaobilazan dio svakodnevice stanovnika Banjaluke, Bosne i Hercegovine, Jugoslavije. Iako su gotovo iščezli iz fizičkog prostora gradova bivše države, i dalje čine dio kolektivnog pamćenja njenih stanovnika.

    Projekat Crveni kiosk predstavlja početak kampanje za zaštitu naslijeđa moderne arhitekture, kroz koji se predmet, koji je bio dio mnogih svjetskih izložbi i kolekcija modernog dizajna, “vraća kući.” Projekat se razvija oko postavljanja i različitih scenarija korišćenja crvenog kioska u otvorenom javnom prostoru naselja Borik. Ovakvim pristupom, žele se inicirati emocije starijeg stanovništva, podsjećanje na dio svakodnevice i djetinjstva jednoga vremena. Pored toga, ukazuje se na vrijednosti naselja Borik, vrijeme i načela u skladu sa kojim je nastalo.

    Ciljevi su: podizanje svijesti o arhitektonskim i urbanističkim vrijednostima stamebnog naselja Borik među njegovim stanovnicima, građanima Banjaluke i šire, i formiranje solidne osnove za njegovu urbanu regeneraciju. Specifični ciljevi su:

    -aktiviranje javnih otvorenih prostora i generisanje novih urbanih aktivnosti kroz uvođenje različitih sadržaja u kiosk i prostor oko kioska;
    -razvijanje kolektivnog identiteta i društvene pripadnosti u naselju Borik kroz kontinuirani anganžman stanovnika naselja u održavanju i definisanju načina korišćenja kioska;
    -pozicioniranje Banjaluke na mapu gradova koji su “izložili“ Crveni kiosk i
    -internacionalizacija Borika kroz promociju stvarne re-aktivacije kioska.


     

    The Borik residential neighbourhood was built during the golden era of Socialist Yugoslavia following the modernist architectural principles, particularly the principle of modular elements comprising the structure of the building, block and district. Prefabrication, as a system of fast, optimized construction, was also present in design of urban furniture, such as bus station canopies, trash bins, billboards, telephone booths, street lamps, etc. One of the most prominent of these elements of urban space was modular architecture of the kiosk K67 (Saša J. Mahtig, 1968). The recognisable red kiosks were an unavoidable part of the everyday life for the citizens of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Yugoslavia in general. Although they have all but disappeared from the physical space of the ex-Yugoslav cities, they are preserved in the collective memory of its citizens.

    The Red Kiosk project is the beginning of the campaign for the protection of modernist architectural heritage, through which the object, that has been a part of many world exhibitions and collections of modern design, “returns home.” The project is developed around reinstalment and varied scenarios of use of red kiosk in the open public space of the Borik neighbourhood. The goal of this approach is to evoke an emotional response in the older population, a memory of the everyday life or of a childhood in the past era. It would also serve to highlight the values of the Borik neighbourhood, the time and principles according to which it came to be.

    The general goals are: promotion of architectural and urbanistic values of the Borik neighbourhood amongst its inhabitants, citizens of Banja Luka, and beyond, as well as creation of a solid base for its urban renewal. Specific goals are:

    -activation of public open space and generation of new urban activities through introduction of different uses of the kiosk and the space around it;
    -development of the collective identity and social identification in the Borik neighbourhood through continuous engagement of the neighbourhood inhabitants in maintaining and programming the usage of the kiosk;
    -positioning of Banja Luka on the map of cities that exhibited the Red Kiosk and internationalization of Borik through promotion of the true reactivation of the kiosk.
